Veronika Scott is a Detroit-based social entrepreneur. As a design student, and in response to a class assignment, Veronika Scott reached out to the homeless community in Detroit and eventually she created a heat-trapping jacket that can transform into a self-heated and waterproof sleeping bag.
She eventually turned her class project into a non-profit organization called the Empowerement Plan. She hired homeless women to work within the organization. Thus, they escape from poverty by building a better future and regain their independence.
